Come join us for an 8-week group exercise program that offers a variety of sports and fitness-related activities. Our aim is to create a supportive environment for adults with Down syndrome, promoting physical activity, health, and wellness, while also providing the opportunity to connect with peers. Each week, participants will get to try out a new activity, learn new skills, and have fun! We recommend bringing a water bottle and wearing comfortable clothes that allow for easy movement and sneakers, as we will be up on our feet every Tuesday. Don't miss out on this opportunity to get moving and connect with others! Space is limited, so be sure to registeration closes Sunday, April 30th. Week 1 (May 2) – Strength training
Our first session will be conducted at the Down Syndrome Guild. During the session we will learn about different ways to stay active and work on building our strength with a variety of strength exercises while playing fun and competitive games with friends.

Week 2 (May 9) – Basketball
We will be meeting at an indoor basketball court where participants will work on various skills including dribbling, passing, and shooting with a highly skilled basketball coach.

Week 3 (May 16) – Kick Ball
Join at the UTD multipurpose field for a fun competitive game of kickball to get your body moving. Please bring a water bottle as we will be outside for the game.

Week 4 (May 23) – Walking Club
Join us at Prairie Creek Park to enjoy the fresh air and the great outdoors! Participants should wear their best walking shoes and bring some water as we will be exploring the nature trails.

Week 5 (May 30) – Adaptive Tennis
Join us at Richardson Heights Recreation Center as we practice our tennis skills with a certified instructor from the Dallas Tennis Association. The Dallas Tennis Association offers an adaptive tennis program taught by certified instructors to meet the needs of individuals with different abilities.

Week 6 (June 6) – Beyond Karate
We are excited to welcome back a guest instructor from Beyond Karate, an inclusive martial arts school. Beyond karate strives to offer an opportunity to learn & practice traditional karate skills & values to every individual with special needs & disabilities.

Week 7 (June 13) – Zumba
Join us at the Down Syndrome Guild for a day of zumba to get your bodies moving and grooving.

Join us at the University of Texas at Dallas soccer field to practice dribbling, passing, and shooting while hanging out with friends and UTD students.
