This presentation will cover resources and services that adults with Down syndrome and their caregivers may be eligible for through their local Area Agency on Aging.  The Area Agency on Aging provides resources and services for older adults (aged 60+) and family caregivers who meet the following criteria:

• those who care for person aged 60+

• those who care for person of any age with dementia

• those aged 55+ who care for adult under age 60 with disabilities

• those aged 55+ who have primary custody of minor grandchildren (or relatives other than biological children)

Area Agency on Aging services may include benefits counseling, respite, information and referrals, case management, workshops, and more.  Doni will also provide information on selecting a nursing facility and can help answer questions about the STAR+PLUS Waiver.
