Roy Atwood is a trial lawyer with Atwood Gameros LLP and has extensive experience in representing companies in complex litigation. He has represented clients in construction, toxic tort, and product liability litigation, as well as state and local tax, outsourcing, contract, environmental class action, and negotiable instrument litigation.

Roy also practices in the area of special education law. As the father of a child with Down syndrome, he has first-hand experience with the education of children with disabilities. He has experience dealing with families and school districts in achieving the best possible educational outcome for children with special needs. At any step in the process, from creation of the Individualized Education Program to placement in the least restrictive environment, Roy can provide behind the scenes counseling or direct representation.

Description:
In this seminar, Mr. Atwood will offer practical tips on how to recognize insufficient goals and provide attendees with the tools to develop meaningful goals for students of all ages. Participants will also be guided through an exercise taking a student’s present levels of performance, identifying subject matter goals based on those present levels, and then drafting sample goals that are both meaningful and measurable.

PLEASE NOTE:  Childcare is NOT provided for this particular seminar series, and parents are encouraged to make other arrangements for childcare out of respect for all our attendees.  Should you have any further questions or need assistance with registration, please contact Paige Hayes at (214) 267-1374 or paige@downsyndromedallas.org.
