BILINGUAL PROGRAM COORDINATOR (part time)

The Bilingual Program Coordinator for the Down Syndrome Guild of Dallas reports to the Executive Director and works collaboratively with staff and related program committees to implement strategic initiatives and programs that support the organization’s mission and outreach to the Spanish-speaking community.  The Bilingual Program Coordinator is responsible for bridging the needs of Spanish-speaking families through the organization’s existing programs from diagnosis through adulthood.  This individual will also be responsible for planning and implementing social and educational programs specifically designed for Spanish-speaking families as part of the organization’s Grupo de Familias Unidas program.

The Bilingual Program Coordinator must demonstrate excellent customer service skills, empathy, and sensitivity in supporting families throughout their journey from diagnosis through adulthood.  The ideal candidate will possess a shared vision that values diversity, inclusion, and promotes high expectations for all individuals.  The Bilingual Program Coordinator should have demonstrated success in working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and feel confident in leading group programs independently with the support of volunteers.  Candidates must be fluent in English and Spanish.
